Having been immersed in a deep well of work (rewarding but also so time-consuming), I feel like I’m now back in the sunshine. I’m treating myself to an afternoon of skincare- and makeup-related reading and watching. And how nice to find not one but two of your newsletters to read!
Pity about the MOB blurring foundation. Hopefully you may still come up with a way to sheer it out. (In this day and age, sheer-blurring ought to be possible, I’d like to believe!)
Being back in the sunshine after a long stint of work is the best feeling!
I'm so glad to have discovered how to make the MOB foundation work for me. And now I love it! And I completely agree. Sheer-blurring should be a new category in 2024!
Oh, I've been on the hunt for a new cleansing balm without EOs; however, the one linked in your dedicated Start review sounds gorgeous; do you still use it; are there other cleansing balms that you love/recommend?
I'm not currently using Stark's Aurora but would recommend it for sure. I personally enjoy MudPuppy more, but it all depends on what you're looking for in a balm and the cleansing process!
Right now, I'm using and loving the Skin Fancy Honey Rose Cleansing Salve (linked in Newsletter 095); this is my second tin! I also love the pAra botanica Chaya Balm though it's not technically a cleansing balm. But in case you want a 2-in-1 and looking for a luxurious moment, I can't recommend it enough (linked in Newsletter 079).
Thank you for these suggestions! You're the second person in as many days to recommend pAra; the Chaya Balm sounds — luxurious, as you said. I've been using the same cleansing oil for 10 years, but love the addition of a balm; still missing Sea Change from Heart of Gold :)
Ah, yes. I miss Heart of Gold's cleansing balms too!! The pAra Chaya Balm is such an underrated gem; it's beautiful. Would love to hear what you think if you end up getting it!
I will certainly let you know what I try and how I like it; I tend to be super loyal to "favorites", so I am eager to finally find a replacement balm for Sea Change, and speaking of, I reached out to Ally/Heart of Gold and she said that Golden Milk by Apis Apotheca is similar :)
Ooo, that's so good to hear! I've been following Apis Apotheca for a while and have yet to try them, but Golden Milk was the first to catch my eye. Perhaps this is the year!
