This is charming, Maggie. I love that you had a chat with us, and introduced us to your cat menagerie. My dad loved cats, and we always had at least one when we were growing up. As adults, each of we four kids has had rescue cats, and my younger sister worked at the Humane Society Spay and Neuter Clinic and fostered cats. I'm glad you brought your two newest family members in from your yard. Your talkative cat reminds me of the two Siamese cats we had when we were growing up. They were always vocal. My last two, who I had in my SF condo, were—the vet thought—a Ragdoll and a Birman. They were chill, surfer-dude style cats. I appreciated their calm. Purring and happy vocalizations are more my jam. I look forward to more of these from you. I like the intimacy of the video form from online folks I haven't yet met in real life. Oh, and as to re-reading books? It's interesting how the same book seems like an entirely different book because we are at a different stage of life experience. In some cases the books reveal more and are more of a pleasure, in other cases, we have matured past them. I have some comfort books that I can re-read forever (so far:) and they always make me happy, but others no longer speak to me. Thank you for taking part of your vacation to record this vlog.

Katherine, I'm so sorry for the delayed reply, but am ecstatic that you enjoyed this one! My dad loved cats too. It's so lovely to hear your sister also worked at the Humane Society and Clinic and fostered cats! We were back and forth about bringing them inside just because we don't have a big house. But we couldn't leave them out during the winter, even though Husband built little cat houses in the backyard. I love Siamese cats; that was my dad's first cat. I've heard great things about Ragdolls, but I've never met a Birman before! I would appreciate their calm as well.

And I couldn't agree more. It's so interesting to re-experience a book in a different stage of life. I ended up not finishing the re-reading and have moved on to other books instead. Sometimes I have to be in the right mood for certain books, much like film.

It means so much to me that you enjoyed this vlog, Katherine. And that you're looking forward to more because I want to do more of them. Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment as well.
