I enjoyed reading about your experience with (m)anasi7 make-up and also your rationale before purchasing any product! Thank you for being open about your budget plan - it inspired me and I know it inspires other people as well since it can be a hard subject to talk about because lets be real.. our passion tends to be on the luxury end spectrum and we all can be each other's friend to inspire slow purchase hehe. I made a personal beauty budget at the start of the year but what's worse is that I'm already close to hitting my budget now! Fortunately, my beauty habits are similarly still in the "slow mindset" - I only purchase things I love and have done research about / sampled (lol trying to convince myself) and also following the 1-in-1-out rule. I also try to buy things that are multi-purpose and how long they will last vs how fast I can use it up is also a big determinant to my purchasing power too. These days, I like to tell my husband before I purchase things just to go over my rationale to keep myself accountable lol. You're one of my superwomen, Maggie! I cannot wait to learn more about your slow beauty ~

And about the (m)anasi7! I'm so happy to hear that you love the color!! Btw, it's interesting how you said that their shades tend to pull more pink on you!! It has a similar effect on me too but I couldn't quite put a finger on it before. I have tried their samples Ikura and Kuranberri which I had a similar feeling about - there's just something about the undertone. I think when I finish up my next shade would be the Bisque! It's so neutral I love it :) and btw I also cry with its 6 months expiry date. It's such a beautiful and expensive product that is too short-lived ~ I hate to say that it's my fave blush ever.

I love the show The Boys! I'm excited about season 2!!!!!!! I think you talked about it before in your newsletter and when I found out about it, I gulped season 1 a little too quickly.

i wish that all over color didn't have castor oil :( but i probably wouldn't wear it everyday and it would go to waste going beyond the 6 months. i really need to go on a no buy. how did you summon the will-power? i need to work on that. maybe you can share your spreadsheet with me someday... i don't know how that will help me, but i've spend too much this year too. yikes!

may money grow on trees for all of us

Maggie, I feel like I just fell in love with the (M)anasi7 All Over Colours all over again hahaha. The color looks absolutely stunning! And I’m so glad the scent doesn’t bother you anymore! So funny that the formula is more sheer, I guess it makes it that much more wearable. I’m also applauding you for your no-buy for the rest of the year!! That is such a smart move, and it sounds like it coincides really nicely with your slow-living approach to life. The holiday season brings so much stress and joy at the same time—I think this is a wonderful year to explore what giving and showing love looks like without high price-tags or material goods attached! After seeing all the sales after the pandemic hit, I think it’s given me a lot more confidence in knowing that sales will always come around. They always seduce me the most when it’s a brand I’ve been wanting to try, or it’s a category of product I know I’ll need to refill soon. I really enjoyed your honesty and vulnerability in today’s post, thank you for sharing your goals and musings for the rest of the year! I watched parts of season 1 of The Boys with bae, so I think we will tune in to season 2 when it returns!
